Naga or Nagi would work:) has a Hindu conotation for life, death and rebirth:) Gordon for a boy (my male spin on the female Gorgon), or the previously mentioned Eve.
S/he is an albino Corn Snake. Beautiful markings, very docile...except when I fed him/her yesterday.
CHOMP! GONE!
I've been wanting one for several years now. I went to the pet store and s/he seemed to take an instant liking to me...even though it was probably just my body heat!
I realize it's a little silly to name a snake, since he won't ever really "respond" to his name, but I'm starting to lean heavily toward "Apophis". He was an ancient Egyptian deity, usually represented by a snake.
He's also the bad guy on one of my favorite Sci-fi shows of all time, "Stargate SG-1".
Plus the "S" ending of the word is just snake-like! Say it out loud..."Apophisssssss"!!!

My suggestion: Persephone

Jim says "Tut"...I say "Nefertiti" or "Nyla" (for the Nile River)
